Kindling 'Quartet' (Kooii members) + Guests

Kindling's music derives from African, jazz and reggae influences, bringing them together in a kind of folk music that aims to uplift, enchant and enlighten. Rich in timbres and insightful lyrics, their songs are soulful journeys made colourful through guitar and vocal harmony, percussion and trumpet.  Kindling is made up of members of prominent Afro-reggae outfit Kooii, a band who have established themselves at the forefront of Australian music with their distinct take on Afrobeat and Reggae. Over the last seven years, Kooii have appeared at major festivals and venues throughout Australia and NZ, and last Spring released their second album "In This Life". For more info go to www.myspace.com/kooii Kindling brings together Kooii's singer/ trumpeter/ songwriter, Peter Hunt; bassist/vocalist, Tom Hinchliffe, and; guitarist/percussionist, Conan Griffiths. Kindling began through jamming acoustic versions of Kooii songs, but since has developed a life and songs of it's own. The convenience of this small group allows these talented musicians the chance to perform and connect with audiences, in more diverse and intimate settings.
